Today, the town of Rehoboth Beach raised the Sufferage Flag to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment! Among those in attendance, was Fund for Women Founder Judy Mellen, representing the Sussex County Development Committee and its Chair, Kelly Sheridan, who served on the 19th Amendment Planning Committee. Alice Dunbar-Nelson, local writer, poet and activist. #fundforwomenadvocacyJoin us for a virtual New Directions in African American History! Enjoy a lively discussion with Dr. Jesse Erickson on the life and writings of Alice Dunbar-Nelson (1875-1935). Dr. Erickson’s pre-recorded talk will focus on Dunbar-Nelson's overlooked passion for books and reading. Registration is required to access the recording.
