✔️ 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: Emily has been teaching since 2017 after completing a 200-hour training. In 2018 she discovered trauma-sensitive yoga and knew immediately this was what she wanted to focus on. As a person living with chronic pain, she was immediately drawn to offering classes that were accessible to anybody or ability, like senior yoga, chair yoga, beginners, and all-levels classes. She recently completed a 300-hour training through the Center for Trauma and Embodiment in a model called TCTSY or Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, which is an evidence-based supportive treatment for survivors of complex, developmental trauma. Her mission is to serve people in the community that have been impacted by complex trauma and mental health conditions.
💬 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲’𝐬 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬: This will be a class for anyone with any level of experience or prior knowledge of yoga! Everything will be an invitation so attendees can make their own choices and perhaps come out of their practice with a sense of self-empowerment and connectedness. Her hope for every class that she facilitates is to create a safe space for people to explore movement, choice-making, and present-moment awareness.
🧘 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐠𝐚 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐞: Savasana (corpse pose) or the final resting pose at the end of a practice. Emily shared “When I first began practicing yoga this pose was completely intolerable for me! As I’ve moved through my own life’s journey of growing and healing, this has become the pose I look forward to the most.”

Did you know pay equity is one of our Fund for Women Advocacy focus areas? The Advocacy Committee strives to be at the forefront in understanding issues facing women and girls in Delaware. Today serves as a symbolic day to raise awareness of the gender pay gap. #EqualPayDay2021Today is #equalpayday. This day represents how long American women must work into the year to earn the same salary as white, non-hispanic men did in 2020. The wage gap robs women $ every year - making getting by during this global crisis a lot harder. We have to make sure that this pandemic doesn't reverse the progress we have made on the wage gap. #netde #equalpayday #DelawareWomen ... See MoreSee Less
